Municipal licence: register your pet

Since February 13, some pet licence payments may appear confirmed, and then 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡. The platform is currently declining payments, and we do not yet know the cause.

Municipal licences help protect your pet and support animal services offered 24/7 in your municipality. Using the QR code on the back of the tag, anyone who finds your pet will be able to contact you quickly.

Payment of the licence is mandatory every year. The licence renewal is done 365 days after the initial payment. (E.g., first payment on February 13, 2022; renewal will be on February 13 each year). Under your city’s municipal bylaw as well as provincial law, every dog is required to be registered and to wear its tag at all times. Please also note that many cities now require the licence and tag for cats as well.
