Operations Support – Receptionist
Your Responsibilities:
- Open and close the store, and provide assistance and advice to customers who visit the facility;
- Process transactions, contracts and documentation related to adoptions, animal surrenders, animal reunifications, licences and tags, as well as manage the cash register;
- Scan documents and manage files, including those related to the licensing and tag platform for our partner municipalities (renewals, new licences, document verification and approval);
- Answer telephone calls and emails within one hour of receipt, or forward them to the appropriate person;
- Assist with and finalize adoptions by accompanying and advising adopters and answering their questions;
- Manage orders and inventory, ensuring that products are sufficiently stocked and properly displayed;
- Maintain the premises and ensure that the store is clean, organized and orderly;
- Perform any other related duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Diploma in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration (required)
- Two (2) years of relevant experience;
- Very comfortable working in a computerized environment, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), as well as point-of-sale and payment systems;
- Bilingual in French and English, with advanced written proficiency in both languages;
- Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work independently;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Reliable and trustworthy.

Compensation: $19.00–$20.40 per hour

The SPA des Cantons is looking to welcome new talents to its Board of Directors.
We are seeking experienced professionals who want to put their expertise, judgment and ideas to work for animal welfare and protection.

The Commitment
Board meetings are held approximately every 6 to 8 weeks, alternating between virtual and in-person meetings.
Depending on your expertise and interests, there may also be opportunities to contribute to specific committees or projects.
As with any non-profit Board of Directors, this is a volunteer, unpaid position.
